The basis of our concept is to return to the elementary. The term elementary itself refers to 2 possible meanings: the elements, but also: the most necessary, the basis of life. For us thes two meanings cannot be separated from eachother: the elements water, fire, air and earth represent a deeper meaning in human life. Taking a holiday with us is reaching back to the basics of life: peace & quiet, de-stress, good food and time for themselves and each other.
Our rooms each have their own theme, on which the decoration in the room is based. We chose a minimalist, soothing interior design, using many natural materials. Each room has a bathroom with shower or bath and a separate toilet.
Due to the organization of the rooms in the old barn, we can provide a "private" part of our guesthouse for small groups or larger families. We have provided rooms up to 5 persons to be able to welcome all kinds of families and friends.

L'eau (Water):
Water stands for purity, for the cleansing of body and mind. The Auvergne is dotted with small and large lakes, and is known for its many sources, including those of Vichy. Our bed & breakfast is within walking distance of l'étang de Chancelade, where you can take a refreshing swim or make a trip with the canoe. |
Le feu (Fire):
Fire represents love, passion, intensity. We hope that many passionate moments will be shared during you stay at chambres d'hôtes élémentaire, and not only in the most obvious sense. Passion for nature, a hobby, the intensity of conversations that just don't happen in everyday-life, it should all be possible during your holidays with us. Le feu refers also to the famous volcanos of the Auvergne. |

L'air:
Air stands for oxygen, charging batteries, renewing yourself. The air in the Auvergne is known to be the purest in Western Europe thanks to many forests, very few heavy industry and a thin network of roads. When you breath the air here, you never want to leave again! |
La terre(earth):
La terre stands for mother nature, fertility, seasons... Here in the Auvergne, the green heart of France, nature cannot be denied. Wonderful panoramas, breathtaking forests, colorfull flowers and the brightest green in the world brighten up your walks in the area.
La terre is the only downstairs room, with a separate room for the children, and accessible to wheelchairs. |

Le bois(wood):
Although wood is not an official basic element of nature, it is very important to us and to the region: the Auvergne is covered in forests. Personnally it was the original woodwork of the roof that made us fall in love with our house. On top of that, wood is the material my husband, a carpenter, works with every day. It represents for us peacefulness, time (trees need to grow), relaxation, structure.
Le Boisis a very spacious bedroom with its own south-facing private terrace, with views over the woods surrounding the lake. |
