Hello Craig and Beryl

Sorry it has taken me so long to email, but we would just like to say thank you very much for your hospitality, your advise and help with our property search and your knowledge of the local area. We have not signed anything yet, but hope to by the weekend!

Special thanks to Beryl for the wonderful meals, our take away breakfast and for the chocolate book. It is my Birthday next week, so we will be trying the beetroot and chocolate cake.

Our family (2+2) stayed at La Simpode in early August.

Quite simply, the whole experience was superb and way beyond our expectations.

The hospitality, the rooms, the location, the pool and the food are quite simply wonderful.

Just a quick note to thank you both so much for your wonderful hospitality earlier this week. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Simpode and felt very relaxed and well rested on our return to the UK (that bit was very depressing !!). Thank you for letting us share your lovely home and enjoy Beryl's outstanding cuisine. We felt extremely spoilt !

Really miss swimming in your beautiful pool - the local college pool was not nearly so nice yesterday morning.

Will always give you a call if we are coming through your way.

Dear Craig and Beryl

The 7 days that I spent at your gorgeous farmhouse were wonderful. Your lifts into Thiviers and Perigueux made it possible for me to enjoy days out at these lovely places that I would not have been able to see otherwise, being without a car. Beryl's home cooked meals were varied and delicious - the lovely breakfasts have converted me to starting my day with a good breakfast, though maybe not as large! The room was lovely and the bed really comfy and I slept like a log every night (combination of good food and fresh air also helped!). I am missing pussycats, horse and chickens already! I could not have hoped for better hosts. You enabled me to have a really enjoyable holiday combined with property searching and you local knowledge was invaluable to me. I am sure that I will be back very soon.

Patrick and I got back safe and sound to the UK last night although at one point we did think we were going to miss our flight!

Hi there Beryl and Craig,

Sorry it has taken a few days to send you an email – life gets hectic again and that makes the memory of our lazy days around Dordogne a refreshment once again.

We really had a great holiday and you two helped contribute to that – thanks again! We have been telling stories about rounding up Junior and the lovely food and cycling paths. We will recommend you in the future but hope meantime you enjoyed a couple of days off and David’s visit.

Really sorry to have taken so long getting back to you, life has been hectic to say the least.

Thank you for looking after us so well during our 5 nights with you, our only regret is that we didn't book for a longer visit. The girls both thoroughly enjoyed their stay and we all loved the peace and quiet and your lovely pool. We will definitely be back to see you and enjoy more of Beryl's wonderful cooking.

Just wanted to say how much we both enjoyed our stay with you, and how much at home you made us feel.

The food, company and setting was ideal. Thank you so much for answering all our questions regarding renovating and living in France, you were both more helpful than all the official companies put together.

We have been home for less than twenty four hours and wish we were back at 'La Simpode' already (although I know you're fully booked). You
can be sure we will recommend a stay with you to everyone we meet and hope to be able to visit you again soon.

Well we are now back in the good old UK and it is raining.

Our journey back was very good until we hit the M25 which was a nightmare took about 3 hours from the Tunnel to home.
Thank you Beryl for the picnic it was great and the pastries were a very acceptable bonus.

Also thanks for a great stay your home is stunning and the hospitality was great and Beryl your cooking was supreme we enjoyed every meal and breakfast we are both a bit apprehensive of getting on the scales

We returned to the Charente and have negotiated a deal
with the house next to the golf course.

All going well we will return to France in December to
sign the documents. We will let you know what happens.

We finally arrived home at 9 p.m. yesterday after get stuck on the M25 for two hours in the rain! Just wanted to say thanks for a lovely 3 days at La Simpode! We had a really nice time, even though we were not successful in finding what we wanted! Your hospitality was second to none and we had the best three night's sleep away from home in a while, thanks to the lovely comfortable bed in our room. I think someone else liked it too, especially when it was raining! Thanks for all the info and tips and hope to see you again one day soon!

Just a quick note to say that we arrived back at the rat race safe and sound thanks. It took us an hour, 15mins to fly from Limoges to Liverpool and two hours, 20mins to drive from on the M62 from Liverpool to Bradford! It only took us an hour the previous Sunday.

Thanks again to you both for your hospitality and kindness, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you. The thought of going back each evening to a homely atmosphere and a gorgeous meal made the world of difference to us.

We intend to come across again early 2007, so we've no doubt we will see you soon.

Dear Craig and Beryl. At last, we've finally got round to emailing you as
it's taken a few days to catch up with bits and bobs.

   Both of us have been reminiscing about our stay with you (and TC, Pandora,
   Johari, Charles and the gang) and agree it was the best B&B we've stayed
   at anywhere; a lovely home, area, hospitality, and of course, Beryl's cooking.
   We managed to get some Confit du Canard and some Grenache in Thiviers and
   will try these out on the family soon - can't wait.

   We aim to visit France again next year and do hope to see you again. All
