A man lay in a special bed, He didn't like to be this way. Back to when he was in prison He didn't like to be this way. Back to when he was in an apartment, He didn't like to be this way. Back to when he was walking with his wife, He didn't like to be this way. Back to when he had just met his wife, He liked to be this way. M. B.

The tire is burning on the highway He didn't like to be this way. Back to when he was a caterpillar's tire running all the
way. He didn't like to be this way. Back to when he was standing at the warehouse. He didn't like to be this way. Back to when he was in the heart of his tree, C.M.
A woolly jumper is piled up next to smelly socks. He didn't like to be this way Back to when he was a ball next to a fire place. He didn't like to be this way Back to when he was curling on a sheep's back. He liked to be this way. V.P. & L.E.F.

The little ivory statue stands on a shelf
He was sculpted and decorated
With pretty African creeds
For an eternity, for some help he was waiting.
He didn't like to be this way
He shut his eyes and dreamed back.
Back to when he was taken by the poacher
Surrounded with other tusks like him.
He was not with the ivory waker yet
But later, he would be sold as a victim.
He didn't like to be this way
He shut his eyes and dreamed back.
Back to when he was in the savannah,
He was linked to an elephant, near the tree
Who was walking, drinking and eating coca.
He felt happy, pleased, lucky…free.
He liked to be this way
He dreamed hard to try and stay here.
